Welcome to The Salamanca Collection

The Salamanca Collection is one of the oldest fine art galleries in Tasmania, Australia. Situated in the tourist precinct of Salamanca, Hobart, The Salamanca Collection offers art lovers a contemporary art exhibition calendar of leading Tasmanian and Australian artists. This is in addition to a collection of late 19th and 20th Century Australian art works which are for sale.  Artists include Charles Blackman, Ray Crooke, Robert Dickerson, Russell Drysdale, John Eldershaw, Nora Heysen, Edit Holmes, WD Knox, Norman Lindsay, Sidney Nolan and Joe Rose. 
We represent contemporary artists Matthew Armstrong, Max Angus, Keith Climpson, Chris Bennett, Murray Bird, Dallas Bromley, Katherine Cooper, Francis Giacco, Adrian Lockhart, John Lownds,  Jerzy Michalski, Chen Ping, Amanda Parer, Dianne Smith, Julian Thompson, Luke Wagner, Roland Gabatel, Phillip Perides, Sam Wade, Katy Woodroffe, Eva Schultz and Ingeborg Zotz in Tasmania.

CONGRATULATIONS to Jonathan Barnard and Caroline Amos on being chosen as 2010 Glover Finalists   Also our congratulations to Terry Gough for his Medal of the Order of Australia for services to the Arts in Tasmania
2009 Glover Prize Winner Matthew Armstrong has a new work arriving at the Gallery.  Originally destined for the Glover 2010; it is now with us.
Chen PIng is exhibiting in "Three Painters from Australia", opening at the Australian Consulate in New York  on 23 February and then opening at Broadway Gallery New York on March 4 at 6:00pm.  Ping is reviewed in Asian Art News - Sept / Oct 2010.
Dianne Smith has a solo exhibition on the mainland later this year.
Sophy Haythornthwaite is BACK!!  We are expecting some fresh works from her in the near future!!
Welcome to Andrew MciLroy, who has joined our gallery. Represented in Melbourne, Sydney and now in Hobart,  we are expecting works in the gallery shortly from this talent new comer.
We are thrilled to represent that Tasmanian art icon, Max Angus. Max exhibited in the first exhibition in this gallery more then forty year ago and is still very popular!!

We are planning on increasing our range of art books, both collectable and contemporary
