2008 The exclusive, Islington Hotel along with Tasmania’s Art Gallery, The Salamanca Collection, are pleased to announce its second year of offering this increasingly sought after Art Prize. The theme for 2008 is "Tasmania, a sense of place" Works in oil, acrylic, watercolour, mixed media and drawing materials will be accepted. The value of the prize is $5,000 (non acquisitive) plus a highly commendalbe award of $1000 and offer to selected artists to hang works in the Summer and Winter Shows at The Salamanca Collection in 2008 and 2009 (under normal Gallery conditions). Entry forms and prize details will be available at the Gallery, the Islington Hotel and selected outlets or downloadable from this site and www.islingtonhotel.com. Deadline for entries is 29 August 2008 and Finalists, subject to a panel of judges, will be announced 19 September 2008. Finalists will be on display and available for sale at The Salamanca Collection – November 2 – 25 2008. Entries must be on CD in JPEG format, sent to the Salamanca Collection Gallery and include a non-refundable deposit of $25.
