Buying Art

The Salamanca Collection buys heritage art.  If you have a work you are considering selling by a well known artist, Tasmanian or national, please contact us.  If we are interested, we will offer a competitive cash price with none of the fuss of auction houses or consignment selling.

Venue Hire

The Salamanca Collection can be hired for functions. Salamanca's best keep secret is one of the most elegant and ambient venues Hobart has to offer. It is an intimate and beautiful site that perfectly suits smaller group functions. Venue hire at The Salamanca Collection is the perfect opportunity to experience the unique works held in the gallery - and enjoy your own private view of current exhibitions at the same time!

Our Red Dot Cafe is a fabulous place to enjoy a corporate lunch or special event dinner. We are able to seat up to fifty guests, and offer a range of fine wines in our licenced area. Hold your next special occasion, workshop or lunch at a truly unique venue!

Advice to Artists who wish to be represented by The Salamanca Collection

Please send us a CD with images and a CV, indicating exhibitions, prizes (finalist and prizes won), publications and references/ reviews. 

Building an Art Portfolio

The Salamanca Collection deals in both contemporary and secondary market art.  We can help you select a start-up portfolio with a balance between young contemporary artists, emerging, established prize winners and well known blue-chip artists. We carry an extensive range of works by well known names, including Blackman, Nolan, Dickerson and Drysdale; as well as works by successful contemporary artists such as Chen Ping and Glover Prize winner, Matthew Armstrong.
